Resettlement Agencies in Idaho

​ Idaho has three resettlement agencies - two in Boise and one in Twin Falls. They offer reception and placement services for newly arriving refugees in Idaho through agreements with the Idaho Office for Refugees and Office of Refugee Resettlement. 

​Agency for New Americans
Agency for New Americans (ANA) in Boise helps refugees in Idaho achieve self-sufficiency in their new lives by providing the skills, education, and support necessary during their resettlement period.

International Rescue Committee
The IRC in Boise provides opportunities for refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, survivors of torture and immigrants seeking citizenship to thrive in America. The Boise office also provides services to the broader community, including immigration legal services; financial capabilities & VITA tax filing support; refugee 101 presentations to civic, church, school and other groups; contact between service providers and qualified interpreters; and internship & volunteer opportunities.

USCRI Twin Falls
The USCRI Twin Falls field office has been welcoming newcomers to Idaho since the early 1980s. Refugees resettled in Twin Falls come primarily from Afghanistan, Burma, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, and Syria. Newly arrived refugees receive a comprehensive set of services including housing placement, cultural orientation, school enrollment, coordination of initial health appointments, referrals to ESL classes, and employment preparation and placement.

ORR-Funded Programs

English Language Center
The English Language Center (ELC) provides language learning opportunities for adult refugees. This includes specialized activities for older refugees, vocational English classes for working refugees to promote continued language development and citizenship preparation classes. The English Language Center includes a computer lab for computer-assisted learning and has developed a curriculum for addressing mental health issues of refugees within the ELT environment.

Global Gardens 
Global Gardens supports farmers from around the world by providing access to land, training, and the local market. We welcome farmers and gardeners to engage in work that brings them joy, provides nutritious food for their families and community, and earns a fair wage within our local food economy. 

Global Talent
Global Talent helps internationally trained professionals reclaim their careers in Idaho through one-on-one career coaching, training, interview practice, and networking and internship opportunities. Additionally, Global Talent is facilitating apprenticeship opportunities for internationally trained physicians with Idaho medical providers, enhancing the quality of healthcare across the state.

Economic Opportunity
Economic Opportunity by Jannus (EO) is a trusted nonprofit community resource that helps people from all walks of life access the knowledge, financial skills, and other vital resources they need to prosper and create lasting socioeconomic change.

Afghan Cultural Center of Idaho
Promotes Afghan culture and traditions and nurtures a positive relationship with the wider community.

Neighbors United
Neighbors United is a collaborative initiative to help refugees successfully integrate and thrive in Boise.
It is made up of more than a hundred community leaders, policy makers, service agency representatives, resettled refugees, volunteers, educators and more. 

Refugee Speakers Bureau
Connects presenters and storytellers from refugee and immigrant backgrounds with community engagement opportunities. 

Artisans for Hope
Where former refugees in the Treasure Valley connect, learn, create, and earn.

Bridges
Bridges is a Southeast Idaho group of citizens welcoming refugees to Idaho. Based in Pocatello, Bridges promotes community connection and education around refugee resettlement, meets needs through financial assistance, and more. Email: [email protected].
