AVSI Handbook for Teachers
AVSI Training Manual for Teachers

These resources were developed within the framework of the Kitgum District Psycho Social Support Program (PSSP) in Northern Uganda in response to the needs of people who had fled their homes after brutal attacks by Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels. Produced by AVSI, the handbook and manual are for teachers who want to meet not only the basic needs of children-- shelter, food, water, medical care -- but also to increase the mental and psychological health of the child. The assumption is that the trauma children experience in such situations can significantly affect their psychological and physical growth.
